By bringing balance and harmony inside ourselves we serve our own health and vitality and at the same time mirror these qualities to our outside world. ABOUT DCASTELL Danielea is an eco-spiritual artist and musician currently living in Prince George. She creates music, tells stories and hosts nature interventions as an expression of her love and kinship with Mother Earth. Danielea has been studying Interbeing communication, ethics and diplomacy with Elder Trees and Waters for the past 10 years. She has primary relationships with a salmon-bearing River in British Columbia, a 400 year old Wild Fig Tree in Capetown and a Shiva Mountain in southern India. Together they are committed to supporting Earth Harmony in local communities through deep listening and sharing. As a musician and sound healer Danielea is trained in Yoga of the Voice and Music Shamanism from the Vox Mundi School of the Voice (2009). She was a Playback Theatre artist from 1990-2000 and has developed an empathic form of chanting she calls sound weaving that brings People, Nature and the Elements together into a communal heart space that transcends traditional species boundaries. In her improvised sound journeys and performances Danielea uses voice, harmonium, sruti box, frame drum, Tibetan and crystal bowls, native american flute, koshis and sansula. Danielea founded the Water Gratitude Project in 2012 and released her first Water CD Thank You Water in 2017. Gary Zukav SPRING Spring is the beginning of a new cycle, a time for planting new seeds in anticipation of a bountiful harvest in summer and fall. Whether the seeds are for flowers or food, the seeds journey is always one of awakening and growing according to its divine blueprint deep within. For us as human beings spring is also a time of awakening – to new or remembered desires and dreams – given to us to manifest so we may bring more joy and light into our lives, families and communities. ******************************** Kirtan is a very different kind of music. Based on ancient chants, it has the ability to quiet the mind, sooth the soul and sometimes raise the rafters with joy! There will be a mix of meditative and energizing mantras and chants, some in Sanskrit and some in English. Just think sing-along. No singing experience is required and lyric sheets will be available. Chair yoga is a general term for practices that modify yoga poses so that they can be done while seated in a chair. These modifications make yoga accessible to people who cannot stand or lack the mobility to move easily from standing to seated to supine positions. Many of the basic body mechanics of the individual postures are retained, no matter the stance of the practitioner. While seated on chairs, students can do versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends, and mild backbends. In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can also enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress, better sleep, and a sense of well-being. Who Can Do Chair Yoga? Those of you with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, or who just cannot get on the floor for whatever reason can benefit from -yoga on a chair. The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of your body allowing you to take full advantage of yoga’s amazing fitness and health potential.
