As someone who has lived with and processed anxiety, alcohol abuse and disordered eating, yoga brings me self-awareness, comfort, safety. Yoga supports my relationship with myself and my mind. Because of this, I have developed a profound interest in human consciousness and all conversations regarding mental health.
I have recreated myself multiple times and my organic maturation will continue. As a Yoga Teacher, I am passionate about ongoing learning. These studies and new certifications have guided many shifts in my teaching style. I now value strength over flexibility, I value feeling and paying attention to embodied feedback and messages.
As I mature and move into my silver years, my yoga practice offers the opportunity to gracefully accept and honour this aging body. Yoga helps me find ease in a challenging and changing world.

MY YOGA INSTRUCTION
I want to show you how regular practice can help support a healthy, mindful life. I have broken away from the strict structure of Classical Ashtanga Yoga to become a compassionate guide drawing on decades of life-experience and my own yoga practice and inquiry. My teaching is not prescriptive but leaves space for you to make choices as to what is authentic for you. My personal style weaves in Pilates and Functional movements to help create a balance between stretch, strength and stability. I encourage personal choice and discourage mimicry within a safe, comfortable space where human beings can tap into what their own body needs, listen to their intuition and modify the instructions to honor and remain present to self. We do not have to appear perfect nor strive for perfection - least of all in yoga. That being said, my role is also to support you to work to your uncomfortable edges in order to learn and move into positive change. My teaching is far from serious and stiff. I play and laugh and can sometimes be brutally honest about myself, allowing us all a smile as we discover ourselves and our common experiences in mind and body. |
FOR YOU, THE YOGA STUDENT
I want you to develop a greater mental and physical resilience through mindful movement.
I want you to feel welcome to come into my space and explore your own body and mind. Your movement and your calm. Whether you choose a soft and gentle restorative class or a stronger flow and core-based class, you will land in the moment and experience pure presence via the physical body.
You can achieve deep mental calm as you move your body, such that you relieve the continual spin of the mind. As I like to say;
“You can’t feel your feet on the ground when you are stuck in your head.”
When humans are present, body and mind, together in a studio space, there is a peace that unites us all. Though we are all attending to our own individuality and unique experience, the feeling of commonality, oneness, unity amongst all is profound . This is the beauty of practicing with others.
